| Description |
Change for Kids, an organization that works to close the education gap in New York City schools, initiated a partnership with the Bronx Museum in 2008 to incorporate the arts into the curriculum at nearby Public School (P.S.) 73. Museum instructors assist P.S. 73 teachers in implementing the curriculum and documenting the creative process. This collaboration allows P.S. 73 students to attend a series of interactive museum tours and art-making workshops in both the school and the museum. |
| Goal / Mission |
To integrate the arts into the teaching curriculum of P.S. 73 and supplement children's learning with valuable cultural experiences. |
| Results / Accomplishments |
Through this museum partnership, students have been introduced to museum culture and have learned how to use museums as valuable resources. The program has encouraged students to look at, discuss, interpret, write about, and make art. |
